Entstanden in d

English version
Lindy Hop is a partner dance that radiates joy and lightheartedness. Originating in the 1920s in the U.S., it is inspired by African rhythms and European melodies. Traditionally, it is danced to jazz or swing music from the 1920s through the 1940s. However, the key element is the 4/4 time signature, which also allows for rock ’n’ roll, electro-swing, or other modern music styles. The tempo of the music can vary from leisurely slow to lively, fast, and energetic, with the movements and figures adapting to the music, even within a single song.
Lindy Hop is thus characterized by dancing with the music (and not just to the music) and also leaves plenty of room for improvisation. Dancers wear casual clothing that allows for enough freedom of movement, though shoes must be clean and suitable for use in a gym.
A F Dance Circle: We start by offering beginners the opportunity to learn the basic movements and figures. Above all, we want to emphasize the joy of dancing and the interpretation of the music. You’ll learn to handle spontaneous changes in the tempo of the music, react stylishly to pauses, and integrate free-form elements into the dance. Advanced dancers are also very welcome to join us. We strive to tailor the class sessions to the participants as individually as possible. Participants who have already taken a class with us or who have relevant prior experience also have the opportunity to take part in performances if the opportunity arises—for example, as part of the University Sports Festival/Campus Xperience toward the end of the summer semester.
Registration for the dance group can be done individually or in pairs.
Registration for the choreography course (F-course) can only be done in pairs (follow + lead). If you don’t have a dance partner yet, please feel free to contact us and let us know whether you’d like to or are able to dance as a follow and/or lead, and we’ll try to pair you up.
